Fixing Pinpointer

Any idea on how to fix a pinpointer, I did a no no (its not a digging tool) and tweaked the probe portion and now it doesn't work as well, have to wiggle the probe to get it to work properly. Thinking of disassembling it and fixing it.. Im guessing soldering is involved.. OY!
 
OK, I don't have one of those and am not sure what you mean by tweaked. There should be a coil of fine wire wrapped around a black rod. This is usually held in place with wax or similar substance. On mine when I open the pin pointer I can see the two wires and see where they are soldered to the circuit. check these connections. Otherwise you will have to open the probe section to see if you have a broken coil wire or coil core. Rob :?: :?:
