Extremely heavy , I almost thought it was a rock before noticing the equal smooth edges on each side .

Looks like large nut to me. Are there round spots on the ends?

Looks like a lug nut from a truck tire that snapped off the stud.

Looks like the nut end to any clamp type tool that has acme threads. McPherson Strut Spring Compressor, Ball Joint Clamp, etc... Most are usually around 3/4" but your photo looks a bit bigger.



I think I'll vote for the lug nut idea as well given the size.
