I got out into the woods today.

This is my first Matron Head LC and it is readable.
Every copper I've been able to find has looked toasty.
The Pro gave a solid and non-wavering 85 signal.
Glad it wasn't a clad quarter. ;)

The religious and service medals were in the same hole.
Both are Sterling too.
The Pro gave a flip flopping 82/84 signal.

Can anyone tell me the significance of the service medal?
There is a name engraved on it and I may try to return it.
Any idea what time frame this could be?

awesome largie, i wish they all come out of the ground that nice1

Thanks for comments guys!

The LC was a big surprise after only getting signals from lead, screws and nails.

Very nice finds,I've been checking history of my town, and the woods weren't always woods, amazing what you'll find there.Congrats

Wood, it really pays to hit any places where people went to hang out back in the day. My rule of thumb is that any of these types places which were active over 50 years ago have some real potential for us Coin Shooters.
The relics and be fun too.

Really good looking large cent.
Love those sterling pendants also. i've never found two pendants in the same hole before.

Congrats,
Raphis

Wow, that's a beauty!!!! As for the medal, I found one similar last year. St. Michael on the front, but the service eagle on the back, along with the Navy. Kind of like mine were your 2 medals combined into one, the eagle and a religious figure....;)

I have two separate medals here. The are the same exact size and shape too.

I'm still considering tracking down the owner.

Brad, there is a full name engraved on the back of the Eagle service pendent.
No idea what Branch of the service it came from.

So far no luck with using Facebook.

No telling if this guy is still alive.
