I'm new to round pieces of lead... drilled-through musket ball?

Found this the other day, near an old house where I found a 1900 Barber dime and possibly a Civil War button. It's almost spherical, but flattened on one side, with a crude hole through the center.

Outside diameter is 0.75 inches.

Any ideas? Was this a musket ball? I don't know how big they were in diameter.

It was never a musket-ball then. I figured it was used as a weight with the hole in it. Cast-net sounds right.

Not modern, though.

It could be a weight for a cast net, seinge or a hundred other things.
Agree, my thought also. Couid be for a seine (sp) net also.

I live in an area where fishing/shrimping is a way of life for many.
