I took my new Teknetics Gamma 6000 out for a test drive this morning and ended up finding a 1901 Liberty V Nickel in the mulch at a local playground in Bolingbrook Il.

Sweet :)
I found one when I used to detect 35 years ago. But quit right afterwards. Just started up again last August. Hope I can find another....

Beautiful V nickel! Nice shape and cleaned up well...maybe it’s just your lighting, but that’s a fantastic looking patina too. I’ve been fortunate enough to have found 3 so far, but none of them are quite that nice! Congrats!

Thanks AirmetTango, I'm a photographer also so I have learned to take better pictures of coins lately.
