My oldest find so far, I don't know why it's not all green with a patina

Nice find! I regularly dig them up here with not a hint of green on them. Every so often I get a really green one or one with green crust on it. I think it depends on the soil it's in.

Nice find. My experience tells me that there was another coin in the plug with that Indian. Looks like the patina is in a circular pattern as if another coin was stacked with it. I find spills like that regularly. Do you remember the plug? I’d go over it again if I were you.

Congrats on your oldest find - minted 112 years ago! Nice coin.

I checked the plug and there was no other coins in it,but I'll look for that in the future thanks

That's a great-looking Indian Head cent!

It seems like the soil near me is rough on them - most of the ones I've found have been super-toasty, to the point I can barely read the date.

Congrats on a nice hunt - HH!
