17th Best O’ North East Treasure Hunter’s Weekend April 23, 24 & 25, in Keene and Swanzey, NH. Because of cut backs, this year, we were able to lower entry fees & cover charges. Be advised! Reserve early!!! Most events have limited space and may sell out. April 23, 1/2 day natural hunt with “Tin-Pan-Man” (Brian Thomas) of the NEMD Forum. Brian will take all who register to an old farm field to look for natural finds. April 23, 7:pm Get together Roast Pork Supper by Jeannie Wrisley, at Moore Hall at I.O.O.F. hall, 181 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Not much parking & supper limited to 50 advance tickets. Parking is difficult, find your own & do not park in U Haul's lot. Introductions & door prizes. Supper advance tickets $10 or if room available $15 at door. April 24, 7:am last minute set up for hobby show, which opens at 9:am April 24 9:am to 4:pm Treasure Hunter’s Hobby Show, Chinese Auction, a gold panning contest with a $5 entry & a best finds contest @ 10:am with a $5 entry fee, Hobby show admittance is a $5. donation & under 16 free. Keene Recreation Center 312 Washington St., Keene, NH. Hobby related businesses & clubs were offered a free booth, it’s a $6 charge to rent a 6’ table. Space not rented for show is given to Streeters. STREETER”S is planning on having a Minelab booth with assistance from Minelab USA, Garrett, Teknetics & White’s of New England will be assisting Streeters with the White’s booth. Plus all kinds of treasure hunting accessories, tools, scoops, headphones, and books for looking & buying.. Bill & Barbara Barker are doing their last St Jude Fund Chinese Auction. Dennis, Jason & David will be doing the ICMJ Gold Panning contest with $5 entry for 3 tries. There will also be a Best Finds in 2009 Contest with a $5.00 entry for up to 3 finds. Workshops: 10:00am Lance Comfort & his book, “Art of Mental Detecting”. 11:00am Jason Sevene & a Minelab USA rep‘, Minelab E-Trac & Safari metal detectors. 12: noon = Jason Houle, Dennis Dewerrdt & David Walker = prospecting for gold. 1:00pm Tony Brogna & White’s of New England = White’s newest & best Metal Detector the V=3. 2:00pm Streeter or another hunter will do a Caribbean Treasure Hunting workshop. FREE magazines from Western & Eastern Treasures, Lost Treasures & International California Gold Mining Journal. 3:00pm to 4:pm drawing winning Chinese Auction Bids. April 25, 10:am 17th National BONE Metal Detector Hunt. David Gaillardetz is hunt master. Held rain or shine at an old YMCA camp off Bent Court, in Keene, NH. Bring your own umbrella, chair & refreshments. This metal detector hunt is in memory of Mark Sutcliffe and other Society members who have passed. Hunt prizes = old coins, tokens, relics,, gold & silver, hobby accessories & the top prize of a Minelab X Terra 505. $50/00 advance entry fee to 4/10/10. Make check payable & send to PTHHS, 307 Main St., Marlborough, NH 03455. After 4/10, if available, the entry fee increases is $65.00 each. BONE 17 FUND RAISER RAFFLE First Place is a 1/4th oz. U.S.. Gold Bullion Coin (Won by David Gaillardetz @ a FMDAC HUNT. He donated it to BONE for the raffle prize. 2nd Place Mexican 2 Peso Gold Coin Drawing April 24 @ BONE Banquet in Swanzey, NH Profits from weekend events & fund raisers are shared with St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Tonight a metal detector will received the BONE Metal Detector of Year Award & 3 or more treasure hunters will be honored & inducted in the Treasure Hunters Hall of Fame50 in advance for Sunday hunt before 4/10 and after if still room entry fee increases to $65.00 each. If anyone stays over to Monday, Rodney Parrott or another member will take 25 hunters who pay a $25 cover charge for an all day natural hunt.
