Screen repair on ML xterra 70

I have an old xterra 70. Something fell on the screen (my kids were playing in the garage) and now there is a big black blob on the screen. It seems that the detector itself still works, just the screen is broken.

Does anyone know roughly what it would cost to replace the screen through Minelab?

Does anyone know if this can be easily repaired by myself?
