So I was out in the woods checking out some old cellar holes (date around 1850) and started winding off deep in the middle of the woods off an old cart trail, after finding a flying eagle, a few buttons I had this massive hit on the AT-gold. It was ringing in the 80's and was showing 10 inches, after digging 10 inches, this heavy bronze coin came out! After cleaning it up a little I managed to make out a reef, the words Decime and the letter A, traced it back to this website:

Turns out this coin was minted in Paris in 1795 and was brought over to Maine, 216+ years later I dig it up! After doing research I can't seem to find anyone that has found one here in the U.S, most of them are found in France. I didn't know the French were in Southern Maine after the French and Indian war. I thought the English kicked them out in 1765 and most of them either died or re-settled in Louisanna, If anyone has some insight on this I would love to hear it!
