Traveler was in the area, so I went over to the coast to meet him and another local legend, Tom_in_CA. Both gentlemen were a pleasure to meet! Unfortunately, due to preferred hunting methods and conditions, we had to divide and conquer, so were not all able to hunt together for long.

Traveler and I wanted to get in the water, so we headed to a beach and chased the low tide back up the beach. He was on clad right away, but it was a quiet hunt for me as I fought my CZ into submission. Once subdued, the CZ started pulling in the goodness for me, though! It was a record day for me, with six rings, my first stainless ring, my first copper nail, and my first set of ocean pliers! I'm going to see if I can bring the pliers back from the brink of death.

Below are the rings: Silver, gold (2.0 grams of RMI 10K), and junkers to the right.

UPDATE: I broke off the accretion from the pliers, wire brushed the rest of the rust off, and darned if they don't work just fine! Shocked the heck out of me!

Also, I posted my video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/YP9wax029eE

The Good and the Really Good

The keys with the brass tag were a very pleasant surprise, but aren't that old since they reference Mazda, and Japanese cars came to the USA in the late 60s/early 70s. Cool find, just the same, though, in my opinion!

Thanks, msand! I did take video, but unfortunately it's a boring video since all of the good stuff was found prior to my getting my GoPro. We started REALLY early, so it was dark the first couple of hours and I was using a head lamp (GoPro is useless in the dark). After getting the camera, I found next to nothing. I was in a hot spot about knee deep in the water prior to getting the camera, marked my spot on the beach with my scoop, but I never found that hot spot again. Amazing how fast things change when the tide is coming in!

I'll compile the video and post it soon.

You did great Diggum!! Traveler contacted me, but unfortunately I had prior commitments and couldn't meet up with him! Glad some members here were able to hook up!

Thanks, All!

Ron, I wish you'd been able to make it. It would be great to meet you, too! Next time...

Compass, quit throwing your junk back in the water for others to find!

Looks like a Fun time, Specially when the Yellow shows it's face..

It was great meeting you Jon. I ended up with 118 coins of which only 6 were zinc. The conditions were good for that beach. Only one piece of jewelry for me, a junk mickey mouse ring.
