Washington State is a wonderful place to live and offers everything for the avid metal detector hobbyist except a rich history of pre 1800's activity. One interesting place in our area is Connell Prairie, site of the last battle between early Washington State Settlers and resident Native Americans of the area along the White River. I know most of the area around present day Connell Prairie is privately owned and probably not accessable for metal detecting. Looking at the history of the area though, I have found many places along the White River used as crossings during the comings and goings of these same settlers. Has anyone on the forum ever done any metal detecting either in the Connel Prairie area or along the White River or (deep breath) both?
