Detecting our citys main st park in the center of town..... Got a strong 81 signal on the surface so I automatically assumed it was a memorial penny… but it wasn't! It turned out to be an 1809 US half cent! Beyond excited to say the least!

Thanks! Our park is 200 plus years old... So I figure if I had laid there a couple hundred years... I'd be kinda rough also! lol
It was up tight to the base of a big bush...Maybe 2 inches deep in very loose soil... I assume the roots must have brought it up over time...

Awesome find. I have 1 half cent in 6yrs, found the first couple months after I started detecting.

Hey Joe, without being too specific, what part of Vermont? Northern, southern, eastern, western, ????? ;)

Great find!
