I found this in the water at an old beach. It was waist deep and under around 7 inches of sand so it could have been there a long time.

The ring is really pretty and the details are great, very fine. Stamped 10k and looks to be white gold.

The stone is a scratched out mess, I thought the ring was fake at first until I looked closer at it and no tarnish or corrosion and the filligree detail is sharp.

Do sapphires or aquamarine scratch out like this?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Jewelry store #2 had an answer for me! He said it's a childs gold ring circa 1930's!

The blue stone isn't rotted out it's actually glass and the wear is from somebody wearing it for a long time.

He said it is worth more as an antique than the approx. gram of gold so don't scrap it.

I told him I have no intention of melting it. This is great!!! :D
