The St. Louis County Library, Cliff Cave Branch, will have a free Metal Detecting Basics class on April 4, 2015, from 1-4pm. The class will cover detector equipment, techniques, laws and ordinances, permissions, safety, and more. The class will have the opportunity to do a short, surface-only hunt for Roman coins and medieval buttons. There will also be a segment on basic coin cleaning. Bring your detector and manual, or one will be provided or shared.

Registration required, and begins March 1.

Almost temped to take the day off and head down. Not that I need a beginning class but would be fun to just be a part of it and meet some new people.
