Today I went out with Dave and we went to a spot his dad told us about. It is now a city park and a city hall (VERY SMALL). It had some old slave houses on it and surrounded by cotton fields. We started at the tot lot and found much of nothing. Then it was getting hot in the sun so I went towards the back of the city hall against the tree line. After a few junk targets I got a surface double beep reading 80 thought well at least it is a copper. Looked down and saw a big copper well it looked liked a round something. Picked it up and knew it was a coin due to size and weight. Cleaned it with a bit of water and all I could see is QUE and on the bottom 1894 .
Well when we got back to Dave's dad's place I got some olive oil and rubbed it a little. I could see a big 2 in the center. Well after a search found out it was a 2 cent piece from Haiti. My guess is that is was a slaves coin brought over from Haiti.
Here are some pics of it and one we found on ebay.
