Default rusty cans everywhere

So I was doing some metal detecting near the end of my driveway. I live out in a rural area. Before the road was paved it was a very curvy dirt road. My driveway used to come out in a very sharp curve. I metal detecting in that are and noticed a rust bucket out in the woods. So I went to check it out and the metal detector was dinging nonstop. So I pulled some leave back and found some old rusty cans. The area I found was probably 20x20. I got a rake and clear the leaves and started sifting through the cans hopping to find something cool and found a glass jar then a bottle than a jar. I ended up spending an hour at this dump site and came out with over 30 glass bottles and jars. There is also more to search through. Here is a few pics of my find. I did some research and found the biggest clorox bottle dated to 1955-1959.

Older bottles tend to bring in more interest and money (1800"s) They wont have the screw top on them. Bitters (Old Medicine Quack Cure Alls) are popular and soda or squat bottles.Pontile mark bottles that were hand blown can be very collectible also.

When was the property settled? I would keep digging, you never know when the cathedral bottles are going to show up.

Idk when or if it was ever settled. There are no signs of any foundations anywhere around. Ive lived in there for 20 years and have never heard of anything. Its not far from where the dirt road used to run so I think it was a dump site at one time. But Ill be going back tomorrow and spending more time. I think they are interesting even if they are not very valuable. Ive already got people wanting some of the brown bottles. I need to do some research on old bottles and learn how to identify and date them.

This website can help you with information about the glass manufacturer based on the marks on the bottle:

spent some time in the same area today and found these...

Vicks

This last bottle is interesting it has 5 stars across the front and the back says "Federal Law prohibits sale or reuse of this bottle". Is it a Whiskey bottle?

Nice bottles. The recent large does look like whiskey of some sort to me as well. Since they are screw tops they are probably all around the 50-60's or later, which you may already know. Either way good collection, I love finding intact bottles.

The large Clorox jug is awesome. Fill that up with your clad! HH

Yea I like the big clorox jug. I showed it to a relative yesterday who sales at a local flea market and she said she saw a jug just like that with the cap sell for $50. I live in the foothills of NC just 30 minutes from some wealthy mountain towns. People love old antiques for there summer homes. But Im a history nut and love finding old stuff like this.

Nice commons. Even though the Clorox bottles are beyond common (except for the colored ones) I still like finding them.

No info on the rusty figure other than it does look like a "flag" man (don't know the proper term).
