How sweet it feels!!
Found a 1695-1698 King William III Half penny.
Pretty toasted but was able to 100% make out key features to determine that this is the style version (type 1) from 1695-98. One article lists the type 1 as 10 rarer than the Type 2 version. There were a few subtle changes made for 1699 and thru 1701 when this style type coin ended.
Found in the 'woods' and not near anything. But must have been busy during colonial times. This is my 3rd colonial coin found it the vicinity. the others were 1700's King George penny's . I may have found a few more colonials there (6) but I cannot make out ANY features to know they are colonials.
Anyhow, that's a huge personal milestone for me!!
