Found a pendent

I found a pendent that looks like goes on a chain but cannot determine what metal it is made of. It looked gold till I got home and soaked it in tarnex from Walmart and turned red. I used my gold testers on it both gold acid test and an a gold electric test. Both came out negative. Does anybody now what I can do to test for copper??? Here is a cupple pictures of it. One friend suggested it was a graduation pendent.

That's it, exactly. Graduation date pendant. Generally those are found attached to the tassel from the mortarboard graduation cap. How to clean it? Go easy. The metal is generally really cheap pot metal.

X2 0n the graduation pendant. they are attached to the top part of the tassel and are not very secure. I'm surprised there aren't more found.
