There's a small sheltered beach I try to visit when the tides are nice and low.
Here at low tide I'm able to reach an area that has a layer of very hard packed clay just a few inches under the sand .. this is were the heavy stuff settles.

Today I scored more sinkers,a 1954 florin and a another nice wedding band.
It look like it's been there a long while,by the colour when first sighted I thought 18ct 100% but it's only 375 .. not complaining though!

:dingding:Congrats on another lovely band! Water silvers are hard to come by here.

Almost like that Florin as much as the gold..... Almost..... ;) Nice finds!

nice find-curious how you polish the lower karat finds as the tend to get that green crud on them.

* Gold jewelry cleaning *
Any items that have the green verdigris on are soaked first in CLR .. in most cases this will dissolve it.
I use a jewelers rouge & a Dremel tool with a buffing pad to really cleanup my items,this will remove most if not all scratches etc.A bench polisher would also be fine.
I then scrub it with a nail brush using Spray & Wipe to remove any polish residue .. then a final polish with a jewelers polishing cloth.
