laws of metal detecting?

can anyone tell me what the laws are when metal detecting, like state parks, playgrounds, city parks ex. Im going to start metal detecting soon so i think i should know any laws before i break them. thanks for any help!

There is a lot of information concerning the rules of hunting in parks, playgrounds, etc in the forums. Just go to search and type in "Metal Detecting Laws". There is like five pages of reading. Hope that helps. HH

Laws vary greatly from place to place. The Federation has the State Park Regulations posted on their site www.fmdac.org

Always get permission or know the laws concerning the area your hunting. The metal detecting community does not need more bad publicity by a few greedy selffish individuals that get caught breaking the law.

If you do not like the law, work to get it changed!
