You had a good year.

Some really nice finds.... Love that old stuff :)

The eastern shores of MD have been good to you. Well done!

Very fine finds and here's to more in 2018. Thanks for sharing.

Wish we had history like that out here.

Some nice ones.
The buckle is very unusual looking.
Congrats.

Thanks, yes the very early buckles worn by some of the first colonists were somewhat crudely made yet very often elaborately decorated. Most often decorated on the outer edges of the loops as in my example. Mine in particular is very uncommon and most likely was a spur buckle. In fact, I have never seen a similar dug example on the net. Here is a similar example from Ross Whitehead’s buckle book

Here is another pic including a somewhat more common, yet still elaborately decorated and not easy to find, 17th century so called “spectacle buckle”. These are the only 17th century buckles I have found by the way

Congrats on the Spanish silvers, the first year Seated Half Dime, the love token and the buckle...all are outstanding digs! Best of luck in 2018!

Great saves, you have some really good hunting ground there. I am jealous. Hopefully 2018 will bring you more eye-openers. Good luck Mark

Toasted !!!! What a remarkable top five . I need a guided hunt 🤔
Is there a secret password to get past your receptionist ? Agent ?

Thanks. Just very lucky to live in an area rich with history and to have the time to put in to make such finds. Ive barely scratched the surface for my area as far as hunting farm fields with the potential for 19th-17th century finds. Its just a matter of tracking down owners and getting permission(not always easy) and getting in there when I am allowed. Usually a small window from Oct-Nov and Feb-April. I did, however make two of these finds on public property but those sites are getting very difficult to make good finds on

Good luck to you and everyone else this year
