I'm taking full advantage of the warmer temps and having amazing luck!
Hit my 1740's summer honey hole....which is now a winter honey hole!
Grass keeps the ground diggable.....HUNT IS ON!
Been over this area with my partner countless times. I ventured into the deeper grass now accessible.... and second target of the day I get a jumpy 72-77 on the ATP. Punched through the surface and cut a plug.....this one was deep....rocky soil....COPPER! Young Bust KGII circa 1730's.
I spent the next half hour digging a few nails and headed up the small hill. Dug a nice piece of a Colonial Shoe Buckle....and a musket ball.
Fairly quiet until I get another nice high tone....ground was warming so digging this one was fun...tunneled it out deep in corner of the hole...COPPER! Number 2 on the day...Im like... covered with mud but cleaned it when I got home....surprising detail...1719 KGI.....my oldest KGI ever
After i'm done snapping picks and sending emails to my detecting friends... I start swinging again.....already a happy camper!
after about 20 mins I get strong but deep high tone. another challenge getting this one, finally in the dirt I pulled out I see the this edge of a big coin.....COPPER #3 for the day...HAT TRICK! 1787 Vermont State Copper!!!! Boo yah!
At that point I cut the hunt short......3 copper limit...lol Im dying to get home and clean these.
Had a blast to say the least....SORRY for the poor pics......the coins have way more detail than pics show. Thanks for looking...HH!
