As you likely know if you frequent this forum I have not posted for quite some time. I have been lurking but not posting because although I now CRH $1,000 in halves each week, I have been largely unsuccessful in finding anything noteworthy. ( no commemoratives, only a few 40% silver, a few clad proofs, and a few NIFC’s. ). This week I decided to dump my coins at a location where they allow me to buy the bags when full. This bag had about $100 worth of halves in it, but I needed to find something worthwhile. Let me know your thoughts on what I found other than what I had dumped in.
1906 Barber Half ( my first ever found Barber... although not technically a CRH find)
This odd 1976 Bicentennial half that has every appearance of being 90% silver but has no mint mark, and looks like it was drilled and filled on the back side.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Not worth it at all, just send that Barber half to me. lol, jk
That's an outstanding hunt for sure. A Barber is a find of a lifetime for most CRH'ers. I am not sure about that bicentennial though, maybe plated??? Anyway, good hunt for sure, Congratulations.

Thanks USA... yes I was thrilled with the Barber. I have the same suspicions about he bicentennial though. I appreciate your thoughts!

You just joined the Royal Barber CRH Club, jkb! Royal Congrats! That is a hard one to find! You know what KT runs through every week for the past 7 years...and His Majesty has only recovered 2 in that time! So it is a great find.

As for that bicentenial, KT thinks it was plated and used in some type of jewelry, or a big a** button due to the "attachment" point on the back. KT has found a couple of plated ones similar but without the spot on the back.

I agree with KT, that Kennedy was an ornament, maybe a belt buckle? I had a big Ike dollar belt when I was about 12.

Congrats on the haircut. Your Barber indeed does count as a CRH find!
I found one in a roll of halves back about 2008 when I started hunting again, none found since.

Thanks KT. I’m happy to have joined an elite ... albeit very lucky group.

Thanks Amc Rulz... interesting piece I’d say. I bet you’re right about the ornament part, and I’m glad you agree that the barber counts.

:woot: Congrats on the Barber! I would agree, that definitely counts! :D

Thanks Wolf-Dog! I was super excited to find it, and wouldn’t of it were not for my return so I’ll count it.
