How quickly this summer flew by. It seems I was just saying “I hope we get some rain this summer so the detecting conditions at the girls school will be better than the past 2yrs”. I should be careful what I wish for because it rained so much, I barely got to hunt! On Sunday I went for the last hunt of 2018 and the soil conditions were great. As usual, I worked a spot on campus that I’ve hit countless times over the past few years. I still managed to pull 2 deep large Cents (1816 & 1820) along with a pair of V nickels (1889 & 1891), 3 old buttons and a cool sterling pin that my wife broke when I handed it to her lol.

I also made it out to do a recon hunt at a spot I researched. 90 mins there yielded 11 deep wheats and a silver quarter. That one is close to home too so a nice little after work spot for sure.

Amazing coins you found, love the wheaties, V's, silver, & largies! :woot:

I saw the first largie with a hole in it and I was thinking nice coin, too bad it has a hole in it. Then I saw the second largie and I'm thinking wait, didn't it have a hole in it? :?: Then I was like wait... he found two largies? Outstanding hunt there, congrats! :hi5:

Very nice finds!!! Gotta love those girls schools!!! I know I sure do!

Love that place but wish it wasn’t carpeted in old iron. This place has buildings going as far back as the 1600’s so if you run in all metal, it’s like machine gun iron signals on nearly ever swing. Not sure if it was using an equinox vs a deus that made the difference this year or just more moisture in the soil. Pulled some nice coins this year at solid depths I couldn’t get to prior years. Can’t wait to go back with a small coil next year.
