Interesting "Mundo Wigo" ("The Creator is good") & "Wigwamun"( ?come in the house? or. ?welcome.? ) words stamped into the coin.
Found this about 3" down in the muck just under a bridge on the Salmon River in East Hampton, CT. The coin appears to be made from a brass or bronze alloy, as magnets have no attraction to it.
These Mohegan Indians are so rich they can print their own currency!!
OK.... I know it's a casino chip. Interesting how the quickly the shiny gold or brass plating wore off.
