Reminds me of a foil seal you cut off of a wine bottle. but oval, not round. Not magnetic, about a 50 on my ace 400. Had a greenish tint before I cleaned it a bit.
Can't make out the small word under the horse. "ECLIPSE" maybe?
I find references to an eclipse brand of shoe gloss or polish back in the day.

"E & C Robbins Charleston S.C." I found a listing for an E&C Robbins in a business directory for the years 1830-1841 at 305 King St. Charleston.(I have walked down King street many times)

Found in NC about 2 miles from the SC line.

Does not seem like a lead bale seal.

Any ideas? All are welcome.
Thanks!
Not sure why my pics turn upside down...
Mike

Another bit of possible useful information I found is that there was a racehorse named Eclipse in the mid 1700’s, also one named American Eclipse in the early 1800’s. So maybe your item is a part of some kind of memorabilia or advertisement.

I bet it is. The Robbins name shows up in several hardware business partnerships over the years in Charleston. I sure would like to find that shotgun!
Thanks all!
