Vaquero on the beach

Hi all... newbie here trying to figure out how to work this Vaquero on the beach. I can GB on the dry sand easy enough but cannot figure out how to work the wet sand. Cannot seem to GB the detector. I know this is not a water hunting machine but I hoped I could at least cover some wet sand. I turn the discriminator dial above all metal, try to GB the thing per instructions. Maybe this is not a good machine for wet sand.
