Civil War bullet lead. Made from ingots?

If so.... what do they look like? Just curious since Ive seen all aspects of the bullets except what the lead looks like before melting. Thanks.
 
I had a friend in Springfield, Mo. after telling me that all of his Civil War sites were hunted out, find a cache of 80 pounds of lead that had been hidden to keep it from being captured. This was back in the late 80's.
 
Update with pics.

The ingot was about 8-10 inches down. A 3 ringer was found not 10 feet from it on top of the ground as well as 2 other bullets and 3 buttons on different occasions.
The lay of this land has been the same since at least 1921. I know this because of a photo of the location from said time. Id like to show a picture but.......cant give it away.

Im hoping this is a true CW item. If so...WHOOHOO! If not ...oh well.
Still cant locate pictures of the ingots soldiers used.
