Found this today at an 1850’s Ca. Gold Rush site. Anybody ever seen one before? It has two 67’s and an arm grasping a snake in the middle.

Neat find. What does the back look like?

It is stamped so it looks like the front only the stamped side. I know it is a suspender from the 1850’s. Just curious if the 67’s and arm grasping a snake had any meaning (military ect...) A naval type 33 wreath buckle was found near by. Figured the suspender could be military or militia too

What makes you sure it was a suspender part? The shape looks a lot like a fraternal convention badge. You didn’t mention any attachment points on the back... showing it really may help.

Because I’ve dug them before and experts on gold rush relics who collect them confirmed they are suspender pieces from the 1850’s
