It's driving me nuts, I remember seeing one before decades ago, just don't remember where or in what context... Any help would be appreciated!

Reminds me of a float needle valve from an old carburetor. It sure appears to be needle valve of some type.

Is it the front sight from an old rifle? If so I'm sure some gun guys could narrow it down. Son't know if that's what it is but I could see the curved part fitting on a barrel rather nicely. There is a million different styles of these. Interested to her what you find out. Neat find!

Ahhhh, you may be right. It does look familiar and seems awful heavy for a sight on a firearm.

Maybe a foot that came off a transit or something similar? It looks really familiar to me, but I can't place where I've seen it before, or if I even have seen it before at all.

Thanks y'all! Keep trying, I'd really like to figure this out...

Too big for a sight (I'm a gun guy), too small for a transit foot I think (no means of securing it that I see also), no broken edges so probably not a router bit and way too small anyway.

Best suggestion I've gotten so far is the TIP to an arrowhead, but I still see no way of securing it to anything.

I'd say it is a tip of a broadhead.

I concur. If the steel point hit something hard enough, I've seen the aluminum body of a broadhead peel right off of it.
