Default Dodge Demon....it's dead Jim

http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2018/06/...o-auction.html

The Demon is dead.

Dodge built the last of its 808 hp Challenger SRT Demons this week, ending the run of the most powerful muscle car ever made.

I can only imagine what they'll be going for in a few years.

I like the car... old school American muscle... all good until you have to take a corner.

What I don't like is all the miss information about it.... like its some kind of super car or something.... its not.

fastest production car in the world according to guiness is the Bugatti Veyron. The Demon is not even in the same league.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugatti_Veyron

and if you want just straight line speeds in a package under 100k... check out the Ariel Atom. Its a street legal production car that goes 0 to 100 then back to zero... in 10 seconds... It would leave the demon in the dust in everything except maybe the first 200 feet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_Atom

typical American car companies making up false claims to sell overpriced stuff to people who cant do a google search.

You sure you’re not talking about the Dodge Demon with the 198 slant-six or 318?

American muscle cars weren't about handling, they were straight-line, stoplight to stoplight tire-smoking monsters that drank high octane Sunoco premium at a price per gallon cheaper than todays mini-candy bars

I would imagine that the Dodge Demon, unlike its classic brethren, has an actual suspension that allows it to do a little more than go in a straight line. Granted, the Demon will never beat a 'vette on a winding road...

I test drove a ‘71 Demon back around 1985. It had the 318, yeah what a dog.
What a difference almost 50 years makes!

I wouldn't mind having one of them "dogs" at all. With a 340.

Pipe dream! Even the 318’s are selling for a mint. When you can find one.
