Some kind of emblem? Something about Philadelphia?

Beats me!

Found near a barn, but the site was also home to a late 1800s hotel, a 1930s to late 1940s picnic spot, and it's been farmed from the 1600s to today

I'm guessing some kind of farm equipment emblem or maybe a tag topper, but I've found nothing

it's about 2 1/2" tall and is brass

looks to say 3WS or 3W8 followed by PHILA which I'm guessing would be short for Philadelphia.

there is a makers mark on the back that reads COLGAN. (at least to my eyes)

thanks, it's been a while!

I had to take a long break due to having no time to get out

now I have the time but not the places lol

could it be a room # door sign like floor 3 Room S

long shot but What was the name of the Hotel? did it begin with a W?

far too fancy of a Font to be associated to a barn/Farm in my Opinion

honestly, I have no idea what the hotel was called. There aren't any pictures that I can find and it wasn't there for very long.

Reminds me of something you would spray paint through to mark a bag or something.

I agree with it being from J.W.Colgan Co. Besides radiator badges they made fancy horse rosettes and such. Pretty nice piece!

Nice old-timey fancy piece! Looks like 3"W"s...like three W's ranch or something. PHILA could be a name, too, making this a very personalized buckle(or whatever it is) Very cool!

thanks all!

I'm going to guess a custom radiator piece but I think the verdict may never come in on this one officially

ah well =)
