Old Iron with star mark

I know this is an old iron that has had the handle broken off. I put it through a day of electrolysis and it turned out nice.

It has a star like mark on top. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the mark and about how old it may be.

Well.............

It's a old Iron with the handle broke off and the star might be the manufacture or the foundry that poured it ... do a Google search .... Woodstock

I know it is an iron. I couldn't find specifics about the star mark. Most others have number marks.

OK if others have numbers they might be the weight of the iron and if that was what the numbers met than this one doesn't have a star but a Roman Nurmerical for 10 . It looks like a star cause I see a mold or casting mark that runs into the back of were the handle was . So it might have weighed 10 pounds or it might have been used for the size of the iron . IMHO , Woodstock
