I went out into the cold today to do some beach scanning with the ACE 250 and found two nuggets of metal that gave huge signals but I have no idea what they are composed of or how to go about identifying them.. Hopefully someone can help me out?
Both of these items were found at the water's edge at low tide on a very clean beach (no bottle caps, tabs, junk or rings) but just these two items.. Very solid, can't dent it with a sharp tool.
On the ACE 250 they both register on the scale between the 1 cent and 10 cent icons, under the right side arrow of Gold and Bronze.. They don't appear to be melted bits of junk but pitted and cratered..
How best to figure out what kind of metal are these made of etc?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
