Hello,
I was detecting during my first hunt today around my house in our field, where an old roadbed was, I found several items, mostly barbed wire, an old nail, and this big long bar with holes in each end. Anyone know what It is, or what it was used for?

WELCOME first off, good to have ya! Looks like something off an old tractor to me, Some sort of tie rod maybe?!?

i would say some sort of steering link or tie rod like you said seabeeron for a tractor. by the way how that north alabama weather down there mr han solo. i grew up in guntersville. try going to the river and detecting around the bank. good detecting around those areas sometime i remember when i lived around there.

Its hot down here right now. We are recovering from 9+ inches of rainfall since the last hurricane. Other than that it mostly sunny.

RE:rod

Hi its a spring shackle for the articulating frint end on a tractor allows the wheels to stay in contact with the ground on uneven surfaces ( through row corrugates ) great find cnr dogs
