I had a chance to swing out in the woods after dinner on Mother's Day at my sister's house in Rhode Island, right on the CT border. Lots of virgin ground and old stone walls out there.

I picked up this round copper disc, which is about the same size as a Large Cent. The first side has 12 or 13 circles. The second side is pretty toasty, but I think I can just make out an ST on the edge, maybe "states"?

This is screaming early Americana to me, but I couldn't find anything like it online.

There is a lot of knowledge on this here forum, so could anyone point me in the right direction. Anyone have any ideas? Heavy Metal Nut?
