I had all but given up after 3 hours and just a few coins. I walked towards my car but decided to search just one more area. No rhyme or reason. Just a feeling.

There were a couple of urchins shadowing my every move so I went into the deeper water where I wouldn't bonk them on the noggin with my scoop handle.

A loud signal and in goes the scoop. I was elated to see the glitter. I have been hoping that some day I might find a big hunk of gold. Today, was the day!

10.7 grams and it tests 14Kt. 2-5/16" long x 2" wide.
