Being it was Sunday today, I decided to hunt the local school sports fields areas, with hopes of finding some jewelry with my clad...perhaps some gold, even. I put in a good effort. Gridworked one area by the parking lot, and quick scanned a lot of ground beyond that. This school rarely gives up any old coins, so I was pleasantly surprised to dig the '42 GW at about 5 inches. The 2 Groschen coin was nearly 7 inches deep. It's a cool looking little coin. I think it's made of aluminum. I also managed 4 crusty wheat pennies, and nearly $15 in clad, including one James Polk Dollar coin. The only jewelry I found was a copper band ring. Coin spill of the day was nine nickels in about an 18" diameter area.
Lot of digging today, and I'm feeling it.
