I found this the other day and I can't seem to find any info on this company. I was just trying to find the age, I know it's a Snaffle horse bit.

C B MFG CO. seems to be the name, however it could be C R MFG CO. Either way I can only find modern companies with those names.

I don't think your bit has a great deal of age on it. Usually they come out with rust visible when they have been in the ground for a long period.

It's brass and I think it was silver plated. The conservation land its was in hasn't been used for farming for 30+ years according to the old timer who lived next door to the land.

Its c b mfg co. There is one on ebay. They claim silver on iron but it is common to coat iron with brass or copper under the silver so it does not peel. I see a reference to cb mfg in a 1902 book about blacksmiths.
