I posted these pictures on another thread, but I think more people over here might be interested in this mod.

I love my Lesche, but I like to cut to the left and the right when I dig a plug, so after about 1 minute marking my digger and 2 minutes of grinder time I now have this...which I love even more!

I did that to a freebie digger and it worked great. Gotta be careful not to get the steel too hot or it can weaken the blade. Looks good!
 
Good job and Diggler is right. Dip it in water often when grinding to keep blade from getting annealed.(softening).

I used a portable hand grinder with a cutting wheel...took about 1 second to make each cut...not much heating involved.

The hard part was doing this without a vice.

I stood on the handle with my foot and cut it that way, trying to stay even so it also "looks nice".

Worked pretty good...and I even ended up with a nice pair of open-toed tennis shoes and a pedicure...
