Awesome! Enjoy it.

I've just decided on going with an F2 (over an ACE 250), and am thinking about getting the pinpointer kit also. What extras did you bundle with it?

I've had that happen to me before! I made the mistake of sending my detectors to work so I had to look at the package all day!!

I chose it over the ace 250 also because I like the reviews, and also the display looked like it would be easier for me to understand.

I got it with two coils and a pinpointer, and a set of headphones. Contact Marc from Hollandsbrook.com, he has the best deals I could find!

ok, checking it out, is it normal in and around my house for the thing to beep like crazy and flash different metals, even when not on the ground?

Have you tried turning the sensitivy down? Also double check the batteries to make sure they are in correctly.

yep, just triplechecked batts, they are in right, on start up sensitivity it chatters constantly, even when held up in the air, down two notches it cleans up mostly, out in the yard I have to put it down to 1 bar otherwise it goes bonkers. I have not tried it anywhere else yet, just initial tinkering with the 8" coil.

possible EMI in your area, WIFI...etc... Don't get discouraged yet. Try a park when you get a chance.

I can't turn my F2 on in the house either, even at lowest sensitivity. Even out in our yard we get fairly heavy interference. it isn't a machine problem it is the environment. Everywhere else has been great. Some parks we run with lowered sensitivity but others we can run full throttle. Each park can be different.

most likely your ground is pretty mineralized, unless your relic hunting then just notch off iron and you will be fine with the F2

Yeah, Im sure it is that too, I did dig up a nail and a metal S like on the end of a bungee cord, notching out iron helped, but it was still way jumpy. I kind of live in a development, and ALL wires are underground, so Im sure that isnt helping either.

Ill hit a nice field tonight and get the feel for it, I just have to struggle through another day of work first!

It will make you go crazy...with joy!

This one is very sensitive and can be chatty, but you can turn down the sense and not lose that much depth while you are learning.

I hunt on max sense always, but I learned to ignore all false signals when I get them.
Some parks will make this thing babble on and on, at others it is so quiet that I have to keep checking if it is still powered up.

The fun is just beginning, keep learning and enjoy it!

Thank you, now I just need the time to go learn more.

Its funny how just having this thing changes how I view the world. "where is a good place to MD, how old is that place, wonder if I can get in there"

You will never look at any site with grass or soil exactly the same way, again.
