I've been real pleased with my AT Pro's battery consumption so far. In 45 hours of hunting the detector's probably been "on" 1/3 to 1/2 that time (15-22 hours) and I still have 1-2 bars of battery life left on the original set of 4 alkaline AAs.

I would like to hear what the rest of you are getting and when you recommend a battery change. Do you let it go completely to zero, or will the detector's performance start to degrade at some point before then?

I just got a new Vaquero and have @ 30 hrs or so on it and that's with the battery i installed in it the day i recieved it.Just my 2 cents worth but if i had only 2 bars left like on yours i might be changing them out or you may find yourself in a bind if you don't carry a spare with you.As far as performance goes i'd have to guess it will suffer as the batteries start to drain to a certain point.Rich
