Hi all from Virginia, just picked up metal detecting about a few months back and it's been an enjoyable experience for me. So far I've found rusty items, a twisted spoon, a yellow jacket nest, some pennies, old cans, unidentifiable objects and a broken porcelain lid/plate thing, that I have no clue what it is. It's always amazing to see what's hidden in the dirt we walk on.

Welcome aboard, so what that yellow jacket nest ring up as? Hope you didn't hit that one with your digger. 
Hah, More like my heel closed the hole when I walked over it. No yellow jacket was around that I saw till I covered it up, then abt 10 of em flew over the hole and opened it back up, Knew it was a nest then. So i threw a brick on it till I could get some gasoline. The bug spray didn't do much, had to get the heavy artillery.
