I have a Minelab E-Trac and when it overloads it says so on the display..I was out today with my AT PRO and it started beeping and flashing all kinds of numbers. I was in an area that's loaded with iron..After moving to another location the problem went away. Whats up with that.

EMI does that in some places , it can drive the detector completely nuts.

You can also try changing the frequency.
