Found a great tool that I have not seen on the forum yet, maybe I didn't dig deep enough. Historic Map Works.

The free version let you lay these old maps on top of google earth with a click of the mouse. It's pretty fantastic. Only draw back, is there are not may maps in my area for some reason..... otherwise this tool is awesome. Hope t helps some of you.
