Gotta spend money wisely (or not on this at all right now) but I did get $100 bucks in birthday money from parents and inlaws this year. Considering buying a 5x8 coil for my AT Pro or a true detecting shovel like the Anaconda or whatever...

...if you were in my shoes...?

Shovel if hunting farm fields. If hunting in town and parks, coil.

I just remember getting my Lesche Sampson shovel and how much easier and fun it made my detecting trips. And talk about durable, it's been abused, but keeps on diggin'. Good luck.

You can modify a $10 flea market shovel to make a pretty good digger but not much you modify to make a small coil!

 I’ve heard the 5x8 is quite good on the AT,and RC has a point! That being said...when you get a small shovel, use it wisely. Enjoy both!
