Decided to play hookie today, and go door knocking. Highs close to 100, so i targeted houses with shade, and im glad i did. First signal was a wheat, which is always a good sign, however It was too hot to dig it all, so i just cherry picked for silver from that point on. First silver was a 43 merc. After that i got a nice quarter signal with yhe depth of silver. I was surprised when a very wiped 1897s barber quarter revealed itself at the bottom of the plug which is a semi key date . I went on to dig two more mercs and a rosie. It wasnt until later that gseuser informed me that one of the mercs i dug was a key date- 1921d. I usually rub my mercs, and i did with this one, hopefully not a fatal mistske.

Great bunch of silver. That 1921d is in great shape. The coin guys will pick a dug coin apart regardless but it looks good to me.

Awesome job buddy! Wish I could have been along with you today but circumstances happen. I thought you were joking when you said you found a 21D merc lol. Good day for sure!

Congrats on all the silver! That 21-D Merc is in great shape and definitely worth a few bucks.

Awesome hunt, well done! The 21 D looks nice to me, i have seen far worse coins that people paid up for on ebay....

You are absolutely killing it out there in Kansas! Congrats on that 21D Merc and the other nice finds.

Wow that barber is worn! As for the 21d incredible find mate! A shame you cleaned it , but since its a dug coin the coin guys would rip you apart anyway. So no real harm done.

Nice pile of silver. As for the barber quarter: Shheeesskk I don't recall ever seeing one with that much circulation. Must've been a 1940's loss ?
