Most years I manage to pull a few old coins from our local park. This year I hadn't even gotten an IH. I decided to take a different approach today. Until today I was using my Etrac or Spectra with the stock coil and trying to listen between the many square nails that litter the site. Today I put the SunRay X5 coil on the Etrac and tried again. Even with the small coil I couldn't get a clean signal. The mosquitoes got fierce and I left after an hour but at least I squeaked out a couple good finds. I got the qtr first and the square nail in the photo was in the hole with it and there were others in the sides of the hole. On the way back to the car I found the penny at the base of a large tree. It's not in too good a shape being shot twice but I'll take it.

If anybody collects square nails there are thousands of them at this site just waiting to be dug. I think me and that little SunRay coil are going back to the park again.:D

Those are some nice goodies! Congrats on the large cent and the barber!
