Just think growing up I use to make them. We had a smelting machine that melted the led then you poured it in to a mold and then painted them. I guess I am giving away my age with this post. I would not change a thing about growing up back them. As now day all kids do is sit a play video games or on there I Phones.

budaf250,
Boy you got that right!
When we were kids Mom would say get out of the house and don't come in unless there was blood or the street lights were on.
I know we were much more creative when we played back then.
Great times....

Blingdigger,
Tin/Metal cast soldiers were made as far back as the 1700's.
Your Tin/Lead soldier has the look of a WW1 soldier, so I would put it at the early 20th century.

Great find and a sign of possibly more great targets.
