Cylindrical lead object

This resembles a fishing weight, but there isn't a hole or a slot to put a string through. Looks like someone was whittling a little on the sides. Found at a 1930-40 site.

when I first saw it I thought it was a Whitworth Bullet. If so it would be 45 cal and over an inch(I don't have the specifics in front of me at the moment) not sure, hard to tell be the pic HH

Whitworth bullet...had to look that up. Looks like it, even all crusty like all the pictures, but one end would have to be flat, wouldn't it?
